DT Layout for Child's Play

Todays layout is my 1st DT layout for Child's Play Challenges. I received a message last week asking me to be on their Design Team & I happily accepted.  This is my first time on a Design Team & am so excited to participate!

At Child's Play their challenges are based off toys, movies, games. This week's challenge is based off a story book. You can make your layout based on any shape, color etc. of these images from the book.

I thought of fish right away when thinking of what a bear would see. Bears like to hunt for fish. I found a couple of photos of my son's fishing trips at Lake Michigan. His first trip we took as a family vacation & he just  fished off the cement wall with his dad & grandpa. My son was the only one to catch anything & it was  just a little bitty fish that they called a Goby.

On his 2nd fishing trip, a bunch of grandpas relatives went out on a charter boat for salmon fishing. I think just about everyone caught something but my son's fish was not the biggest. He was one of the lucky ones not to get motion sickness anyway.
Here is the layout.

I received the background paper from a scrappin friend, Robyn. The vellum lake sentiment is from a kit I won at a LSS.
I fussy cut the geese stickers & made them 3D with a foam square. I inked the edges of the fish frame with Prima Shabby Tote chalk ink & put foam squares under it also.
The scallop chipboard border was painted with gesso, Rangers Salty Ocean Distress Ink & Clear Rock C;andy Distress Crackle Paint. I added real fishing line to make the photos look like they are hanging & I added Diamond Stickles so you can see the string better.  I then sprayed a Studio Calico Huey's Mask on the bottom borders of the background paper with Tattered Angels Electric Blue Glimmer Mist & added the fish.

Here is a closeup

I hope you can stop by Child's Play & make something with this weeks challenge.
Happy Scrappin!
