The Desk Is Here

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I want to thank the servicemen & servicewomen who have fought & lost their lives for our country.

I wanted to show some photos of my new desk. The first photo is of my old desk. It has 3 big deep drawers that go down the left side that I always had to dig for stuff. It also has a skinny drawer in the middle.
                                          Here is the new desk.
I have totes on both sides of the desk for a total of 16 altogether. There are 4 different bases that you can choose from. I have mostly Prima products on this side of the desk. On the other side, I have some photos, mini albums, 6x6 paper pads, borders & various embellishements.

This is the inside of the front cabinet. It has velcro pouches so its easier to take stuff to a crop. The other side is the exact same. I think I might have to put something on that white space to decorate it.
Here is the top of the desk
I put my bling in the right side drawer. In the middle, I have my adhesives. Next to that I have my washi tape & some of my punches. On the left side, I have paper, pens, tools, ribbon, twine & journaling paper.

Now its time to play! I have to make 2 birthday cards & a layout for Lets Get Sketchy this week.

Stop by next week for some surprises!
Happy Scrappin!

New Scrappy Desk & Retreat

It has been 2 weeks since I last posted. I should not do that. I can not believe that I have not made a layout in 2 weeks. Oh boy! I have been wanting to but just didnt happen. This week has been busy for me.
I had ordered an EZ View Desk from Scrapbox the day after Mother's Day.
It said PreOrder will take 6 weeks. I wanted to wait to order it because I didnt want it to come while I was in Pittsburgh at my Prima Sweet Retreat next weekend. There are still a couple spots left, I believe.
I thought Great! Plenty of time to clean my scraproom & get it ready. One week later, I received an email that it had shipped. I was worried that it was going to come on the first day I was gone. I received a voicemail later that day & it said they could deliver the next day! I talked to the lady the next day & rescheduled delivery for Friday. Which is tomorrow!
I am still cleaning but it should be good to go by the time they get here tomorrow.
Then I have to get ready for my trip that is at the end of the week. I will be meeting people that I have been chatting with online for over a year. Now we get to meet face to face. I cant wait for some great Prima projects with Cari Fennell from Prima & Eileen Hull from Sizzix too!
Hope everyone has a Great Memorial Weekend!
Happy Scrappin!

Super Sketch

This weeks sketch at Lets Get Sketchy is one of my faves. It doesnt even have butterflies or flowers on it. Imagine that!
I have seen layouts with the Sunburst before & have thought about doing one but never really looked into how you make them. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make one.
I really like how it turned out for this photo. I had 3 photos in mind for this sketch but this one definitely works especially since it is also a layout for About a Boy challenge.
Their challenge is to make a layout that is about a typical boy. What boy doesnt like to dress up like a Superhero. There are 2 reasons why I added Spongebob to this layout. #1- I didnt have much of this shade of yellow paper. #2- There is an episode of Spongebob where it shows Patrick & Spongebob's favorite Superheros. They even dress up like them.
Here is their sketch & my take on it.

Supplies

Red, White & Blue Cardstock
Carolee's Creations Ting a Ling Dry Brushed Periwinkle Patterned Paper
Sandy Lion Spongebob Patterned Paper
6x6 Paper Pad
The Paper Studio Textured Cardstock  Borders

EK Success Border Punch
Pink Paislee Artisan Chipboard Star
DIY White Foam Thickers
Red & Blue Twine
Yellow Liquid Glitter
Tattered Angels Red Velvet Glimmer Mist

Tim Holtz
Barn Door Distress Ink
Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink
Salty Ocean Distress Ink
Fired Brick Distress Stickles
Broken China Distress Stickles

I would like to Thank my Peeps at Club CK for tips & instructions on how to make the Sunburst background. It was very helpful. I pretty much followed the instructions at SG but just measured out my own size rays.I even added the twine between the rays. I used Tacky tape to hold the twine in place.
I inked the Thickers with the Distress Ink first & didnt quite like the results so I added the stickles. I was lucky enough to have just the right colors. I also added some stickles to the star after I inked it with Tattered Angels. I had to use a paintbrush because the sprayer clogged up.
I hope everyone has a Great rest of the week!
Happy Scrappin!
