Prima Layout

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a layout that I did this week for another Club CK challenge. In this challenge we were suppose to use our favorite scrapbooking collection or supplies from our favorite scrapbooking maufacturer.

I just LOVE flowers, bling, butterflies & pretty colors! To me that is Prima. It did help that I had just received the Firefly collection of Primas. This collection, although it is not a full collection, is at the top of my favorites. The colors of the patterned papers are beautiful. I love pinks & purples but even the other colors just went so well together. I ended up going all out for this layout. It looks like quite a bit of pink but I just Love the way this turned out.

The photos are from our LSS that closed last year. I had bought scrapbook supplies & sold them in the store on consignment. These photos show the Prima products that were hanging on the wall & sitting on the shelves.

Supplies: Prima Firefly collection of patterned papers, chipboard stickers, alphabet stickers, journaling notecard & stamp. Prima's other products include Say it in Pearls, Say it in Crystals, banners & tickets canvas resist, Meadow Lark wooden embellishment & flowers from different collections.

Other supplies: Martha Stewart Edge Punches, Black Soot Distress Ink, Dusty Concord & Picket Fence Distress Stain & Prima Distress tool.

Have a Good Weekend & Happy Scrappin!

Number of Photos Blog Hop

Hi & welcome to our Number of Photos Blog Hop! We each picked how many photos we wanted to use on our layout. There are 2 people designing for each amount. If you didnt arrive here from Adele's blog,  you can go back to Amanda's blog & start from the beginning.

I picked 2 photos because thats what I primarily use on my layouts. Sometimes I will use 3. I have started to participate in more challenges lately so I decided to use this layout for 2 different challenges & the blog hop.

This layout was created from a sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I turned the sketch sideways since I was using horizontal photos. The sketch showed using vertical photos. I also changed some of the elements & left some out.

Lets Get Sketchy

The other challenge was from Lasting Memories. They want to see something from your Hometown. My photos are not very exciting or I should say I could have come up with something more monumental of my town. The top photo is one of our historical landmarks though. The rock on the bluff has a Native Indian story. It is called Sugar Loaf. The body of water below is our East Lake. We have 2 small lakes that are called the East & West lake because there is a road that runs between the 2 lakes.

The bottom photo is an area that people sometimes have their Senior/ Graduation pictures taken. There are trails to go hiking on if you go back into the trees more. There is another area that is called Stone Circle where you can sit & have a small fire. I took this photo just to capture the different shape of this tree. We probably should have waited 1 more week & then we could have captured more vibrant color changes on the trees in the bluffs.

Supplies: Brown cardstock, LYB's Hello Fall paper, clear cuts & corrugated shapes, Prima Say It In Pearls centers, Recollections Pearl stickers, My Mind's Eye decorative brads & Basic Grey letter stickers.

Tools: Martha Stewart Traditional Eyelet  Edge Punch

Hope you enjoy the blog hop! Your next stop is Becky.
Happy Scrappin!

Wedding Layouts

Happy Friday everyone! Today I finished the 2nd page of  a 2 page layout for my cousin's wedding album. The 1st page I uploaded for an Issue Challenge at Club CK last week. The challenge was to use a paper airplane and/or washi tape.  I decided to just go on my own with using washi tape. I used it in the corners & on the pinwheels.

I lined up 3 strips of washi tape on white cardstock. I put washi tape on both sides of the cardstock on 2 of the 3 pinwheels. I then punched a square with a 1 1/2" square punch from Creative Memories. I  took a scissors & cut from each corner diagonally about 3/4 of the way to the middle point. I just eyed up the middle. Then I folded the same corner of each cut to the middle point. I took my paper piercer & poked the middle point. I kept the points down with a finger & fastened a brad to the middle with the points under the brad. You dont even have to use glue.

I glued the lace on both bottom corners of the photo mat & also glued the pinwheels to the lace. The white foam Thickers were inked with Distress Ink, Color Wash spray & Stickles.  I tried getting the length of the washi tape the same measurement for the corners but that was harder to do than I thought it would be. The white photo mat is from a wedding scrapbooking kit that my cousin received as a wedding gift. I will be incorporating the kit with supplies that I have also chosen for the album.

On the 2nd layout, I decided to use washi tape on the corners again.  I cut an orangish colored piece of paper for a big mat. Then decided to mat every photo with pink cardstock.  I  decided to place the pictures more across the page instead of going down so it would go with the 1st page.

This week's challenge is to use itty bitty pieces on your project. This idea comes from the Creating Keepsakes magazine in the Sept./Oct. issue. My itty bitty pieces of embellishments are what I am using on my layout. Number 9 in the magazine says to group or layer a collection of teeny embellishments to accent or frame your photos. I used 3 black pearls plus the small pearl accent between the 2 photos at the top. I also used 4 black pearls on the bottom part of the orange mat. The black pearl flourish at the bottom of the page also came in the same package from Prima. The journaling at the top of the page are the names of the Wedding Party. The journal tag is also from the wedding kit & I inked the edges. I accented it with a distress marker & stickles. I added Prima centers to the silver flowers. The black stems for the flowers were cut apart from a ZVA flourish. That was the most time consuming part of this layout. Here are some close ups.

Supplies: Pg.1- Prima washi tape, white foam thickers, Picked Raspberry distress ink, Star Dust stickles, Ranger Adirondack Sunset Orange Color Wash, Queen & Co. washi tape, My Mind's Eye Decorative brads & FabriTac liquid glue.
Pg. 2- Queen & Co. washi tape, Orange Peel stickles, Worn Lipstick distress marker, Star Dust stickles, Black Soot distress ink, Prima Say It In Pearls, LYB fabric favorites(silver flowers), Prima Say It In Studs.
