Lovely Layout

Here is another layout from a sketch at Lets Get Sketchy. This is starting to get addicting. I missed out on making a layout for the challenge at Club CK since I was sick for a few days & my mojo didnt want to come back right away.
I actually made this layout in 1 day. Pretty good for me. For some reason, when I do a layout from a sketch, I tend to almost copy it exactly. Some people go way off the beaten path from the sketch. I am trying to add more but I think my clean & simple style always tends to come out.  Here is the sketch.

Here is my layout. Sorry for the dark photo. It has been cloudy & snowing, again.

Supplies:
White Polka Dot & White Flourished Paper- Wedding Album Kit
Black Cardstock
Butterflies- Prima(Melody Rose,Say It In Pearls Pink) & EK Success(Jolee's Boutique)
Flowers- Prima(Ballerina Blooms Dorae & Say It In Pearls Peach)
Flourish Vine- Prima(Say It In Pearls Peach)
Hearts- Prima(Rosarian Wood Buttons)
Grasshopper Fancy Floss- We R Memory Keepers
Title-Paper Studio Glittered Cardstock Stickers
Ink- Ranger(Picked Raspberry)
Stickles- Ranger(Diamond)
Heart Punch- EK Success

I tied some fancy floss through the wooden buttons & added Diamond Stickles to them to give some sparkle. I put the big pearls in the flourishes to give some color.

I inked the heart punch part of the paper so it would stand out against the other patterned paper.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday & have a Great weekend!
Happy Scrappin!

Lets Get Sketchy WK2

Here I am on the 2nd challenge with Lets Get Sketchy. So far, I have done 2 challenges at Club CK & 2 at Lets Get Sketchy. Some people might think thats not a big deal but it is somewhat for me. I am what you call a slow scrapper. I tend to overthink things & they have to look just right. The problem there might be because I have so many scrappy supplies, its hard to choose. That sounds good to me.
Here is the 2nd challenge for Lets Get Sketchy

.

Yellow Background Paper- Moxxie
Red & White Cardstock

Club CK Issue Challenge #2(Jan/Feb)

Well, here goes the 2nd week with the Issue Challenge at Club CK. We were suppose to use filmstrips. I had 2 of these filmstrips for a couple years now. I liked them but didnt know what I was going to use them for. See, if you hold onto scrappy supplies long enough, they will get used. LOL. Here is my take on the challenge.
And here is a closeup of the banners
Supplies:
Echo Park Musical Notes paper
Pink Cardstock
White Banners & Title Mat- Wedding Album Kit
Orange & Pink flower paper-Swap at Club CK
Adhesive Rhinestones- Recollections
Pink Rhinestone Stickers- Recollections
Black Say it in Pearls- Prima
Title Fonts- Prima & Basic Grey
White Lace- Offray
Pink Ribbon- Oriental Trading
Film Strip- The Happy Scrapper Cherry Collection
Embossing Folders- Sizzix
Picked Raspberry, Black Soot & Tattered Rose Distress Inks- Ranger

I handmade the banners except the white one with black pearls. I cut my paper to the width size that I wanted. I cut the length to what size I thought I would want. Afterwards, I trimmed the length to the right size. I took 2 bottom corners & lined them up. Trying not to make a crease. More or less bent the paper & not folding it. I then cut from the 2 corners at a diagonal angle.
I took the pink ribbon & weaved it through the holes in the white lace. I adhered the ribbon to the banner & then cut the shape of the banner at the bottom.
I alternated the letters in my title. I knew I wouldnt have all the same letters in one font for the whole title so I decided to mix them. There was  another weekly challenge for mixing your fonts so I entered in that challenge also.

Be on the lookout for another post either tomorrow or Saturday. I am working on another layout for Lets Get Sketchy.

Happy Scrappin!

Trying more sketches

I have decided I want to try more challenges this year. I try to do challenges at Club CK. Sometimes it just has to tickle my fancy for me to do it. I have been trying more sketches lately though. I really like checking out Lets Get Sketchy. I am going to try to stick with it & do their challenges each week along with some from Club CK.
Last month was just to hard for me to try to keep up with making Christmas cards & doing my December Daily, which I have to finish yet.LOL. So, here is the first sketch of the year from Lets Get Sketchy.

Here is my take on the sketch

With some close ups

Supplies:
Bazzill cardstock
MME 6x6 Designer Paper Pad
Prima Firefly Journaling Notecard
Prima Rosarian Decorative Wood Embellishment
Prima Gillian White flowers
Prima Sherwood Rose Larkspur flower
Prima Meadowlark flowers
Prima Vermont Ivory Leaves
                                     Prima Canvas Resist Butterflie
                                     Websters Pages Butterfly Push Pin
                                     Recollections Adhesive Rhinestones
                                     Recollections Button Embellishment
Tattered Angels Tuscan Sun Glimmer Mist
                                     Ranger Tattered Rose Distress Ink
                                     Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink
We R Memory Keepers Flourish Mini 8 Punch

I must say that this is a Great sketch for me. Flowers, butterflies & flourishes are some of my favorites. The top canvas resist butterfly I sprayed with Glimmer Mist & inked the edges with Distress Ink. The other canvas resist butterfly is inked with a blending tool. The flourish hanging down from the big pink flower is a scrap piece that came from the decorative paper that I punched out with the Mini 8 punch.

Hope you have a Great weekend & Happy Scrappin!
