My Challenge LO

Thought I would share my LO that I made for a Issue challenge at Club CK. I really like the colors that we were to use. Purple, Teal & Brown.
These are more pictures from our bus trip we took to 3 different LSS. The heart jewels on the left are from Prima. The letters are from MME Lush kit. The butterfly sticker is from BoBunny. The purple & teal flowers are from Prima. The little purple flower is from a fellow scrapper at CK. The pearls on the right are lavendar & are from Recollections. The pp is from a paper pad by Paper Studio. I had fun putting together this LO.

Hope everyone has a Great Monday!

Happy 21st Birthday!

I want to wish my DD a Happy 21st Birthday! We are going for dinner & drinks later on. Hard to believe 21 yrs. have gone by already. To celebrate her birthday, I am going to post a LO from her wedding album that I did for a Scraplift Challenge. I really like how it turned out. It has my favorite scrappy items such as stitched paper, ink, border punch, flowers & bling.

I cut the calendar at the Wednesday because that is the day they got married & I stamped the date underneath. The heart border & the blue flower were inked with Faded Jeans distress ink. The blue flower was tucked underneath the border of flowers & I added a gem brad in the middle of it.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Happy Friday 13th!

I didnt realize we had a Friday the 13th so early in the year. Is anyone superstitious when it comes to these kind of things? I can be but I dont let it get out of hand. Last weekend I attended a New Years crop at a LSS. She has such a turn out for this event that she has one on New Years weekend & the weekend after because she has only so much space. She always has a grand buffet & hourly specials. She even provided paper, chipboard & instructions on how to make a desktop calendar. Lots of fun!  I decided I was going to start on my daughters wedding album while I was there. I had already gotten everything together ahead of time & thought I had everything with me. Here are my before & after pictures of the 1st LO.
This is the LO I made at the crop. I knew I had to add something because it just looked too plain. My daughter & I made her wedding invitations, which were only about 20. The embossed pieces on both sides are what we used for the front of the card & are inked with  Faded Jeans distress ink as well. She also stamped a big heart with a couple kissing on the front. There also are wedding bells above the couple which were stamped with embossing ink & heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
The next day after the crop I just had to figure something out for this page. I remembered I had blue lace but that seemed like too much blue. I just had to use that lace though. It looked so nice. I took the plain white TH lavish trimmings ribbon & inked it with Tattered Rose distress ink just like I did with the title & mats for the pictures. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to put on the ribbon. The flowers I put on the ribbon are Artisan Elements from Pink Paislee. All the elements in the package are white & you can ink them any way & color you want. They feel like a rubber resin. Quite different. The darker blue flowers I misted with metallic blue that I received from Robyn, a fellow scrapper. The lighter blue flowers I just inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink.
I also made 2 other LOs but they have to be modified also. I just havent gotten around to it yet. I started to do a LO for a challenge with some more pictures from my daughters wedding so I will post that once it is finished.
   Have a Great weekend!

Happy Scrappy Friday

Happy Friday to everyone! I think Fridays are my favorite day of the week. I am off work by 6am on Fridays & I have the morning & half of the day to myself. Today's blog I thought I would share some projects I worked on during the year. I will start with January of 2011, which is my daughters birthday month. This is the card I made for her birthday.
The rosette flower I made with TH rosette die and added a Prima Pebble in the center. I put some flourish bling coming from the rosette & used a border punch on the bottom of the card. I believe it was a heart punch.
I made this card for Mother's Day. I embossed the card with my Texture Boutique & Sizzix's flourish embossing folder. I misted the card with Maya Road's Seafoam mist. I added a butterfly from K & C Co.  The letters are TH grungeboard letters which are inked & glittered with Perfect Pearls powder. The flower was misted with a pink mist from Maya Road also.  I added self-adhesived bling from Want 2 Scrap onto a piece of gold ribbon.
I bought this bathtub chipboard mini album at Archiver's. I used Anna Griffin patterned papers, which you see on the cover. I also used Coredination's core essentials paper. I embossed these papers with Sizzix's swirls embossing folder & sanded them to make it look like bubbles & water. I also put some bathtub epoxy stickers on the other pages which I dont think I have pictures of. I colored in the ducks with yellow marker.
I bought this wooden heart frame at Michael's. With my 2" scalloped punch I punched out 2 pieces. I cut one of them in half & the other I cut into 1/4. I put a little bit of adhesive to keep them in place at the top of the frame. I then took Sailboat Blue Adirondack color wash & sprayed over them to make it look like clouds. I then removed the half & quarter scallops. On the bottom half, I used a leaf mask & sprayed with Meadow Adirondack color wash. I then added the bling in the masked off part. I added Prima flowers & leaves. I inked the edges of the leaves with Black Soot distress ink. I adhered a butterfly from K&C Co.
This is a compositional notebook that I decorated with Prima's Pixie Glen collection. I got this idea from Drew Scott who makes projects on  Live with Prima. The front of the book I covered with a sheet of  Pixie Glen patterned paper, cut to size, and adhered it to the notebook. I covered the binding on the left side with TH tissue tape. I took another piece of Pixie Glen patterned paper & fussy cut the roses. I added those  to look like a corner border. I added some more at the top of the book. I inked a piece of Prima's resistant canvas for a title area at the top. I then added a butterfly with some bling to look like he's flying away from the flowers. I added Prima flowers at the bottom along with Say It In Crystals Prima bling for the stem of the rose. I also added patterned paper to the inside cover, inside back cover & the back cover.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

My 2nd Post

I thought I would post 1 more time before I had to head back to work on Monday night. The one thing I don't like about having a long vacation is that I don't want to go back when its time. Plus we will be doing inventory. Luckily it is only 1 night. I know some places that have inventory all week long. Also, ds goes back to school on Tuesday. It is going to be so hard to get him up for school since he has been staying up late during Christmas break.
In today's post I thought I would share some pics from my November bus trip. We started at a LSS, which is 45 minutes away from me, with make n takes & breakfast.
Next, we headed out on the bus to the next LSS that was about 1 1/2hrs. away. We were each given a goodie bag with candy & coupons. We had salad & pizza for lunch & did more make n takes & a little bit of shopping. LOL
The next stop was over 2hrs. away but we enjoyed each others company & watched some movies. When we arrived we were able to choose from a large assortment of desserts. Yum! Cheesecake! We were able to squeeze in 1 more make n take & some shopping.
We were suppose to get back to the 1st LSS by 6pm but waiting for everyone to get done with everything, we didnt get back until 7:30. Glad I didnt make any plans that night. I finished up my shopping at the 1st store, grabbed some fast food & was home by 9:30. It was an exhausting but fun day. Hopefully I will be going again in the spring. They will pick different LSS to go to next time. So it changes each time. Here is a pic of all the make n takes we made. 2 Christmas cards, 2 tags, a tin can decorated, a magnetic notepad & a block of wood painted & glimmer misted. We added a clothespin & made a flower out of lace.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

When I decided to start a blog, I wanted to do it the 1st of the year. I have been working on setting it up for a couple days so I could be ready to make my 1st post on New Years Day. I am going to post a couple of my favorite Christmas cards & next weekend I will start my DD's wedding album. After next weekend  I will start posting LOs from that album. Maybe some other things in between sometimes. I am hoping to be a blogger that will post every week. As excited as I am about this, it may be at least a couple times a week. Depending if there is much to blog about. Hope you can stop by & check it out occasionally.

This card was made with Prima's North Country line of papers, flowers & resistant canvas. Stamps were highlighted with stickles. Rosette flower was made from TH rosette die.
I painted the doilie with Adirondack's Gold Paint Dabber & added pearls to the outer part of the doilie. The middle of the doilie includes a red piece of paper punched out with a 2" scallop punch. A gold sticker on top of that with a red & pearl brad in the middle. It reads Merry Christmas on the top of the card.
I used Graphic 45 paper & adhesive backed bling on the bottom of the card. I used a border punch on the side of the card & inked the design with distress ink.
I misted over a mask on the red paper with Graphite Glimmer Mist & added some bling. I inked the doilie with Pine Needles distress ink. The red & white paper is frrom Prima's North Country line & made a rosette with TH rosette die.On top of that is a Christmas metal embellishment from TPC Studio.

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year & Great 2012!!
