Mother's Day Card 2012

Since I haven't posted for a little while, I thought I would share my Mother's Day card that I made. It is a simple card but I love the colors & it is still pretty. At least, that's what mom said.

The background paper is from We R Memory Keepers & is a Jade color. That is my mom's favorite color. I used white foam Thickers for the lettering of "I AM". I added Stardust stickles to the I. I inked the AM with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The 3D "thankful for you" sticker is from MME Miss Caroline collection as well as the twine. The butterfly & layered flower sticker are from Cosmo Cricket Evangeline collection. The blinged out hearts are from the Recollections line.

Spring/Mother's Day Blog Hop

This LO that I made is of my son & me. I LOVE these pictures. So loving & innocent as a baby. Now as he is a teenager, I can barely get a hug from him. I started out with this decorative paper from LYB. I thought the paper matched his jeans so well. The flowers were just outlined in white so I started coloring them in with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers. That alone took me a couple hrs. I was almost thinking this is looking too girly for a LO with my son. Maybe I will keep this LO for myself. I tried to put a little more blue in it & make it look a little less girly. I used gesso & a Prima brick wall mask. I thought it went well with the flowers.The letters are white foam Thickers that I inked & applied Perfect Pearls to. The embellishments that are layered are from My Minds Eye Miss Caroline collection. I also added some LYB Jewel Stickers to the flowers.

Chinese Whispers LO & Blog Hop Announcement

My featured LO today is one that I made for the Chinese Whispers Challenge at Club CK. It starts off with a sketch for the 1st person. That person makes a LO off the sketch & then sends their LO to the next person without that person ever seeing the sketch. The 2nd person makes a LO off the 1st person's LO & so on down the list of people. It is interesting to see how the sketch ends up changing or not changing so much. I really did like to work with this sketch or I should say from another persons LO.

For this LO, I finally dug into some of MME's collection. Some of the brads, the bottom butterfly & the wood pp are from MME. Some of the flowers are Prima's Meadowlark collection. Other flowers are from Club CK members.The butterfly  at the top was fussy cut from LYB pp & I added the bling. I embossed the middle strip of paper which was a piece of pink coordinations paper. The border to the right of it was a die cut of TH. The circular flowered journaling tags are from CM.

The pictures are of my daughter & my cousins pug on either Easter or Mothers Day. I dont actually remember since it was many years ago.
