My Last Week At LGS

This week is my last week as Guest Designer at Lets Get Sketchy. I want to thank them for the wonderful opportunity to be part of the team for the month.

Here is the last sketch & layout for the month of June.
Some close ups

Supplies:

Cardstock
White & Beige

Pink Paislee
Chipboard Alphas

American Crafts
Thickers Rock a Bye Foam Letters

Prima
Junkyard Findings
Stencil

Jenni Bowlin
Mini School Days Bingo Card

My Mind's Eye
Blue & White Twine

Ranger Distress Ink
Walnut Stain

Once again, I do not have the name of the background paper. The name just was not on the paper. I had one piece of blue & one piece of red. The name was not on either one. I am glad I remembered that I had these papers because it works so well for the photos. I had to mix up my letters since I did not have enough. I inked the thickers & edges of the tag with Walnut Stain  but it turned out darker than I thought it would. Almost like a charcoal color.

When I was going to put the hardware on, I had it at the top of the page. That just didnt look right to me. I decided to put it on the lighter colored paper since I wasnt going to use the dark paper behind the bottom photo. I didnt want to cover up my stencil. I used the Walnut Stain on the stencil to make it look like wood.

I was talking to some online peeps & they said twine always goes with the cowboy theme so I decided to tie some on the tag & twirl it around the hardware so it didnt look so bare & all by itself. I received the red twine from a swap.

I really like how this page turned out & partly because the top photo is one of my many favorites of Skyler. I think it just came together nicely. I hope you enjoyed it too.

Happy Scrappin!

I inked the top chevron paper with Black Soot &  Picked Raspberry. I also used the Picked Raspberry on the star & the Black Soot on the banner.  I misted the lace with TA & the overspray speckled the white flower which I thought turned out neat. I applied stickles to the smaller flower's edges & the big star. The black flower also was inked with white chalk edger. I made the leaves at the Prima Retreat by embossing the paper & then using the leaf die by Sizzix. I then inked the edges of the leaves.

Hope everyone has a Great week!

Prima Give Away

Happy Friday everyone! I am sooo glad its the weekend but I am always glad when its the weekend. In my last post, I shared some photos of the Prima Retreat I went to. I also forgot to mention a couple more things since I had someone talking to me while I was trying to post my blog & was distracted.

First of all, before the retreat even began, I met up with a peep from Club CK. Her name is Carole. She drove from Erie, PA & brought her friend Patty with to visit with us also. We had a great time eating, shopping & chatting. I just love to meet my online friends in real life. Here is a photo of Carole & I at Joanne Fabric.

I also wanted to share some Prima goodies that I received at the retreat. First become a follower of my blog & then leave a comment. If you are already a follower, just leave a comment letting me know that you are already a follower. I will choose a winner Sunday night &  post on Monday. Here is what I am giving away.
Hello Pastel paper, Fairy Rhymes & Divine journaling notecards, different flowers, canvas leaves & wire clip butterflies.

Hope everyone has a Great weekend!

Happy Scrappin!

PRIMA SWEET RETREAT

Hi everyone!

I told some people that I would post photos from the retreat except I am not able to post too many on that board so I figured that I would just do a blog post with all my pics. Hope you enjoy! The first photo is of Cari from Prima. She teaches classes all over the world. The other is Kristina from Your Memories Here. She also has an online store & is the one who set up the retreat at the hotel.
This is Eileen Hull from Sizzix. She is a designer of some of their dies. We were able to make projects with her dies. They are also coming out with Prima Sizzix dies. There are flowers, leaves, butterflies & label tags.
This is our lovely group that were at the Sweet Retreat. Most of them are from the east coast area but Sue & I were the ones that traveled the farthest. Sue came from Florida.

              This was my roomie Sue.
Here are some projects & scrappy goodies from the retreat.

These albums & paper were prizes & from a goodie bag that we all received. This is only a portion of what we received but you get the idea. Below is the Sweet Retreat Bar filled with cookies, cheesecake, cake pops & lots of other sweet goodies.

We all had lots of fun, lots of laughs & learned new techniques.
Have a Great week!
Happy Scrappin!

GDT for Lets Get Sketchy

Happy Monday everyone! Right now I have been on vacation since Thursday. I will be back to work on Tuesday night. I enjoyed a Great weekend in Pittsburgh at the Sweet Retreat with some Wonderful Ladies! I will share some photos later in the week.

My new exciting news for this week is that I am Guest Designer at Lets Get Sketchy for the month of June! I am so excited since this is my first time doing anything like this. I always try to do their weekly sketches but their are times when life gets in the way. Their sketches always help me get my layouts done much faster.

Here is the first sketch for June.

Here is my layout

 Supplies:

 Michaels
 Green, Yellow & Pink flowers

Prima
Fabric Flowers
Ivory Leaf
Tiny Alphas
Washi Tape

Paper Studio
Beaded Wire Garland

SEI
Wedding Kit

Ranger Distress Inks
Tattered Rose
Picked Raspberry
Squeezed Lemondae
Faded Jeans

Adirondack Alcohol Ink
Sailboat Blue

I punched a 2" scallop & inked it with Distress Ink. I added some washi tape to one of the banners & inked the other. I also inked the chipboard piece. It was all white & seemed to be a kind of resist. The striped rectangular paper was inked to give the white a little more color along with the scalloped border & patterned paper.

I applied liquid glue to the beaded garland to make it stay in place & shaped it to look like a circle.
I punched out every other fan on the border. I applied alcohol ink to the white fabric flower & button. Alcohol ink is suppose to be used on non-porus surfaces but it worked out quite well on the fabric flower.

Hope everyone had a Great Weekend!
Happy Scrappin!
