1st Birthday LO

I decided to make a LO for a Birthday challenge over at Club CK. I like to make LO for special events such as birthdays & other holidays. This ended up being a 2 page LO because I have so many pictures of my DS 1st Birthday.

I used Spellbinders Banner Shapeabilities dies for the banners at the top of the pages. I use the Vagabond for these dies but I have to add a couple layers of chipboard to add to the platform when I cut them since the dies are so flat. I then stamped the banners with Happy 1st Birthday. I have stamps with the triangle pennant shape & each one has its own letter so you can spell out what you want. The PP at the bottom of the pages are from a paper pad of birthday papers. I used some birthday epoxy stickers & Sesame Street felt stickers. The epoxy stickers on the left page say "I am 365 days old" & "Wrapped Up In You". I actually had bought the Sesame Street stickers for Cookie Monster but that will be on another LO. Big Bird actually is on this LO because the real wrapping paper that DS is opening has Big Bird on it. The black & white photo on the right page is from our local newspaper. I had it laminated so it stayed in good shape.
My next LO is the same LO but I entered it into another challenge at Club CK for a button banner. I figured since I already had the banner, I would add the buttons. This ended up being a challenge(no pun intended) because I threaded the buttons with the twine. The twine would end up unraveling a little & I would start over. I had to add more twine because the twine that was there was too short. I did end up covering the knots with the buttons though.
I have some close ups on the banners & buttons.

I think the banners are my favorite trend right now. You can use them for any special event.
Thanks for taking a look at one of my favorite themed LO.
Happy Scrappin!
